What does this mean?

What are you, your family, friends, and fellow community members experiencing right now? It could be a lack of access to a particular service in your area, housing, or transportation issues, for example. The local council members may have discussions among the group and generate ideas for solutions or they may decide that the issue needs to be directed to the Statewide Consumer Council (SCC) as a statewide issue.

Every month, the local council meetings will host a forum topic (for two months) that will be discussed during the first hour of every meeting. Topics vary and will be shared prior to meetings below. Past topics have included, transportation, unhoused communities, access to food, cost/access to utilities, and many others.

We also offer to help local council members to be active at the Legislature if they are interested. There are so many avenues to have your voice heard and this is where it can start for many of those who want to get involved, the choice is up to you!
