Hello everyone!
We can feel it, can’t we? Spring is around the corner as we finish up the last part of winter.
I know times can seem hard right now on many fronts, but we need to keep checking in on each other! Be a support where you can and ask for support when you need it.
Moving from winter into spring for the CCSM means a very busy legislative session that is underway! Please join us in whatever capacity you can to make your voice heard in Augusta and beyond. I know making positive changes to our systems of care takes time, but we need all of you to pitch in to make change a reality! In our newsletter, our team will outline the different ways to get involved. We hope you will join us at the State House with other peer organizations to talk about the issues we care about with legislators and other leaders. If you do not know how, join our weekly legislative writing group or our monthly legislative subcommittee meeting. Our mental health peer education/advocacy day is 9-4 on April 24th, and we would love for you to come by. We are launching several exciting new projects, and there are more details below. Also, with Spring here, we would be remiss to not remind everyone about this year’s HOPE conference on May 14th at the Augusta Civic Center. It is always a magical day of re-connection, meeting new people and organizations, and, of course, learning! Keep an eye out on our website or the Maine HOPE Conference Facebook page for announcements of keynotes and when registration opens. We are also creating more ways to offer stories and feedback on our website. We now have a feedback section on specific topics or general.
As the weather clears, we will be doing many more outreach events so if you have ideas of where we need to go to talk to our peeps than reach out to our outreach team with ideas. We already have a lot of events coming up so watch our calendar on our website so if you want to join us you can!
We also still have some amazing spider plants if you want to buy one! They are growing every day and ready to move to your home! See our website for more details!
Take care and we look forward to seeing you all very soon!
