Summer time is here!
It’s toasty time for Maine and many are busy with vacation plans. While we are as well, the work does not stop!
I wanted to share that Vickie McCarty retired from the CCSM at the end of June. We celebrated her the way she wanted, with an ice cream social with the team as well as with a visit from another longtime staff member who has moved on, Melissa. For those that may not know, Vickie was one of the OG staff for the CCSM! She has dedicated a huge chunk of her life with us and we are beyond grateful and know her legacy will continue. She has plans! Stay tuned for those.
Our team is wrapping up the busy legislative season and planning for the next. See Kerri’s update below. Our outreach team, as we speak, is at the Opioid Sumit meeting with old friends and new ones as well.
We are working on some exciting new initiatives, one being more collaborative efforts with the substance use disorder (SUD) peer community as well as making inroads on the challenges of mental health advanced directives.
We are always in need of hearing from the community, that is YOU! We can only advocate when we hear what is going on from our fellow peers and allies. If you do not know how best to do that please reach out.
While our spider plant population has decreased, there are still some for sale on our website or swing by the office. We also have Clynk bottle bags that we are happy for you to use for your bottles and this puts some $$ in our account. Reach out if you would like some.
If you receive our newsletter, then you have signed up for our emails. We need your help to share this with others. There is a sign up for emails right in the middle of our home page on our website,

Together we have the greatest capacity to make mental health services/systems better when we unite and work as a team.
Thanks and have a glorious summer!
