CCSM Quarterly Newsletter – Spring 2024 Edition

Hi there,

It sure does feel like summer! Not technically but we have had some beautiful weather.

We are starting to recover from all the work of the 2024 HOPE conference. It was a great day and one I look forward to every year. I often see so many people I do not see during the rest of the year from so many other cross sections of my life: as a provider of adult mental health services, supervising peer support programs, and soon I will say entering my 14th year as the Director of the CCSM. Time really does go by fast!

We have been busy planning all kinds of events for this summer and the team is hard at work. Many events include rocks… read further down for more on that. We have welcomed a new team member to our office! Nicole is our new Policy Advocate; I am sure you get to meet her if you have not already.

We will begin to look at legislative bills we may want to consider for the next legislative session this summer. Every other year is called the “long session” in which anyone with a legislator willing to sponsor your bill/idea can be submitted. Ideas are welcome!

We are looking to connect with people with lived experience from all walks of life, so if you have ideas, please reach out to any of us. Like I always say, we can only be as effective as when we hear from lots of you about what is going on in your lives and those of your communities.

Have a great day and stay in touch!
