New Episodes! Music, Mental Health, and the Stories We Carry

A new Episode Series of Our Voice of ME is HERE: Music & Mental Health

We’re excited to share two new episodes of Our Voice of ME ARE HERE, that explore the powerful connection between music and mental health!

In this two-part series, we look at music from two different but deeply connected perspectives: music as a therapeutic tool, and music as personal expression, storytelling, healing, and connection.

PART ONE: Music as Medicine, Exploring Music Therapy & Mental Health

In Part One, we talk with Kerri Pitts, a member of our podcast team and the person who wrote and performed our podcast’s intro music, along with music therapists Hailey Ward and Dan Wenger. Together, we explore what music therapy can look like, how music can support people in mental health recovery, and why music can help people express, process, reconnect, and feel less alone.

PART TWO: Music We Carry, Artist Peer Experiences

In Part Two, we hear from artists and peers Amy Stacey Curtis and Lauren Crosby. This episode explores music through lived experience, creativity, songwriting, storytelling, and the ways music can help us carry, understand, and share parts of ourselves that are not always easy to put into words.
