You might ask “Why is this important to me?”
The Rights of Recipients is the legal document that tells both you and your providers what your legal rights are. This document has not been updated since 1995. Things that might be important to add, for example, might be emergency departments. In 1995, we didn’t have rights around cell phones is another example. There are a lot of things that are important to those of us receiving services that were not included that need to be now!
We need to make sure our voices are heard in this process to make the document the best it can be as it impacts each of us in the peer community the most.

The Maine Department of Health and Human Services is pleased to invite you to provide input on as the Department updates the Rights of Recipients of Mental Health Services (Adult RoR) (LD 1080).
You are invited to provide feedback by attending a public stakeholder session in either October or November. There will be two sessions provided for the Adult Rights of Recipients Please click the corresponding link below to register for one of the dates and feel free to share this invitation with other interested individuals or organizations who may wish to be represented.
